John Piper said, “Don’t try to live the lifestyle of professionals because “God has already exhibited us preachers as last of all”
“The aims of our ministry are eternal and spiritual. They are not shared by any of the professions. It is precisely by the failure to see this that we are dying.”
“Our business is to deny ourselves n take up the blood-spattered cross daily (Luke 9: 23). How do u carry a cross professionally?
“We are fools for Christ, but professionals are wise. We are weak, but professionals are strong.”
“Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.” James 4: 9
As preachers and ministers of the Gospel we are not professionals who go about charging professional or consultation’s fees, but servants of God to His Church. Our first and foremost business is to pant after God in prayer and to weep over our sins.
There is no professional weeping neither is there professional childlikeness (Matthew 18: 3); there is no professional tender heartedness (Ephesians 4: 32) and there is no professional panting after God (Psalm 42: 1).
We are proudly servants of God. Let’s remain in this lane He has called us t
“We are fools for Christ, but professionals are wise. We are weak, but professionals are strong.”
